Experts say it again and again, we are not as safe as we think we are from harmful UV rays when it’s cloudy outside or if we’re inside.
The American Cancer Society states that UV rays can get through to the ground even on overcast days. In fact, the amount of sun’s harmful rays that can pass through clouds is 80 percent, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation.
Being in closed doors does not absolutely protect skin from the aging effects of UV rays as UVA can pass through glass windows. Meanwhile the blue light from our gadgets can contribute to collagen damage and wrinkles and pigment changes, as it penetrates deeper than both UVA and UVB, dermatologists say.
Nivea Sun offers skin protection against UVA/UVB as well as blue light.
The Nivea Sun UV Face BB and Anti-Age and Anti-Pigments Cream SPF50 are recommended for those working long hours in front of a computer screen. The BB cream is made with titanium dioxide, a physical blocker that helps reflect light rays. The Anti-Age and Anti-Pigments Sun Cream, on the other hand, prevents appearance of sun-induced fine lines, pigment spots, and wrinkles.
Those heading outside are advised to slather on sunscreen. Nivea Sun Protect and Moisture SPF50 lotion and face cream provide broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection in a non-sticky formula.
The aforementioned products are available at leading drugstores and supermarkets, and on e-commerce platforms such as Lazada, Shopee, and BeautyMNL.
