In a bid to educate the public about healthy skin and how to achieve it, skin care brand Cetaphil launched the National Healthy Skin Mission.

The brand brought skin experts and Cetaphil users to various parts of the country to talk about their journeys and share their wisdom on achieving and maintaining healthy skin. 

“National Healthy Skin Mission is an effort initiated by Cetaphil in partnership with Watsons, as Cetaphil’s brand purpose is to improve lives of Filipino’s through healthy skin. It is consistent with Galderma’s commitment to promoting healthy skin as part of a healthy lifestyle,” said Cetaphil brand manager Francesca Sy. 

She added, “To be completely healthy, you also need healthy skin.”

According to experts, healthy skin looks and feels smooth. It does not have to be as smooth as glass, it simply has to be consistent. Consistent skin color is also a sign of good health. Plump skin is also a sign that it is well hydrated.

As part of the National Healthy Skin Mission, Cetaphil tackled different skin types and said that “a complicated skincare routine is not the key to healthy skin.” Everyone should instead develop a skin care routine geared toward their skin type and skin issues, it said.

Bianca King says to keep skin healthy, cleansing face should be nonegotiable. 

Celebrities such as Bianca King and Mariel Padilla, as well as author Joy Mendoza joined in the talk, discussing about their routine and their shared love of Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, the most iconic product of the brand.

The cleanser is fragrance-free, has a pH level of 5.5, and is even gentler than water. 

The Cetaphil routine is simple, consisting only three steps: cleanse, moisturize, and protect.

King, whose skin looks plump and glowing, revealed during the roadshow at SM Makati that her skin regimen, which she started doing at 15, is pretty basic. 

“I always kept it simple: cleanser and moisturizer,” shared King, reiterating that cleansing should be nonnegotiable. 

She reminded, “Don’t be lazy cleansing your face, especially when you have makeup on.”

Mendoza seconded, emphasizing the importance of taking the time to care for the skin. “There is no ugly people, just lazy people.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Zharlah Flores advised everyone to apply sunscreen, especially on the face, which “has the most sensitive skin.”

The right amount of sunscreen to apply on the face, Dr. Flores said, “should be as much as one fingertip.” But people can reduce that amount when they are applying other products with SPF. 

“Since makeup has SPF, you can just layer it. Sunblock, BB cream with SPF, so on,” said Dr. Flores. 

She added, “Apply sunblock 30 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every two hours.”

Cetaphil brought the Cetaphil Healthy Skin Mission activations at SM Makati, SM Megamall, SM North Edsa, SM Lanang Premier, SM San Lazaro, SM Mall of Asia, and SM Fairview.
