Striking a balance between fitness and fashion

Multifunctional objects are a gem these days. If you can use the same item to do two or more different tasks or wear the same outfit to different occasions and locations, then you’ve struck gold.

This is where the athleisure trend comes in strong. Merriam-Webster defines athleisure as “casual clothing—like yoga pants, sweat pants, and hoodies—that are designed to be worn both for exercising and for doing (almost) everything else.”

Keds Studio is evisioned to be the go-to shoes for light workouts and everyday errands.

The demand for sports leisure style continues to pick up because comfortable and durable clothing, the ones usually worn for physical activities, is now stylish. Individuals who lead an active lifestyle are spoilt for choice when it comes to outfits they can wear in the gym and beyond.

As brands and retailers continue to feed this trend, American footwear label Keds expands further its collection of athleisure shoes made of breathable and functional materials, and feature clean and feminine designs.

The Keds Studio collection is made of lightweight jersey and Dri-Freeze technology for ultimate breathability, molded foot beds and contoured arch shapes for support, padded neoprene at the heels for cushion, lightweight EVA foam with breathable perforations, and added arch support with channels for ventilation.

Keds focused on using breathable and lightweight materials to make each pair of Studio comfortable to wear all day.

“You can use them for your gym class or yoga class. But primarily, they are for your everyday errands—when you’re going to class, or dinner, or lunch break,” senior marketing associate for Keds Danica Enerio told Manila Standard.

Enerio however clarified that while Keds Studio shoes are inspired by fitness studio culture, they are not made for high intensity workouts or physical activities

The collection is composed of two styles: the Studio Leap, a CVO upper pattern with fixed gore laces; and the Studio Liv, a slip-on iteration. Both Studio styles come in neutral shades of black and gray, as well as seasonal colors such as peony pink and coral.

Keds Studio aims to empower women to have a well-rounded lifestyle, to find the perfect balance between style and function, to go and get what she wants without sacrificing function or fashion.

“Our ladies are our main source of inspiration,” Keds president Gillian Meek said in a statement. “We know she’s looking for equal parts fashion and function, so we’ve created a collection that finds that balance and works with her modern style.”

Meek continued, “Whether she’s heading to a studio class after work or brunching with friends on the weekend, we want to offer a collection of shoes that takes her where she needs to go, and feels as good as it looks.”

A pair of Keds Studio is available for P3,495 at Keds stores nationwide. Go to keds.com.ph for more information.
