This is the time of the year when the local hospitality industry is abuzz with all kinds of promotional events, paying tribute to the “Queen of the Home,” allegiance to “the hand that rocks the cradle, the hand that rules the world.”  Mothers take center stage tomorrow, Mother’s Day, as the rest of the family members do their best to pamper her, showing her the love and affection that she rightfully deserves.  After all, no gift to a mother can ever equal the nine-month gifts she produces!

Due to space constraints, I can’t fit in all those dazzling offers from these hotels, but here are a few, to whet your appetite for making mothers feel special tomorrow.

Oakwood Premier

This hotel, known to have the biggest guestrooms among all the hotels in the metro, with kitchen facilities in each room, has a very attractive Mother’s Day Package available not just for tomorrow, but throughout the month of May.  The overnight stay at a Studio Room costs only P7,800, or at a one-bedroom Suite for only P8,800, both rates are inclusive of taxes and service charge.

The rates come with complimentary breakfast for two adults and two children below 12 years old, plus a special Nail and Foot Care Package for Mom, in the comfort of the room they’re staying in.  More information on this and the hotel’s other offers is available at (02) 637-7888 or www.oakwoodasia.com/Manila

The 40-story Oakwood Premiere cuts an imposing façade right in the middle of the Ortigas Business District

Oakwood Premier is at the 40-story Joy Nostalg Center right in the middle of Ortigas Business District, a short hop and skip from the metro’s biggest malls and entertainment venues.  All rooms have free Wi-Fi, iPod docks, kitchen, washer/dryer, and steam shower.  Amenities include an indoor pool and hot tub, a bar/lounge, a gym and a children’s play area, so that the little ones won’t have to “hold on to Mom’s apron” all the time. On May 25, the hotel’s signature restaurant, Nostalgia Dining Lounge, gives us another reason to give our mothers another treat. An acoustic band will play all the hit songs from Phantom of the Opera, while we feast on their delectable menu offerings.  Now, that’s dining with a heart!

The Bayleaf Intramuros

This very nice boutique hotel banners its new TBX Membership Card not just for mothers but for anyone who enjoys the good life!  The card entitles the member to a complimentary overnight stay for two at a Superior Room, complimentary breakfast, a bottle of house wine and Welcome Drinks. For only P6,500, membership includes several substantial discount vouchers on room accommodations and year-round discounts at the hotel’s restaurants.

Members are also entitled to a free meal if they are with three other friends, either at the very popular Sky Deck Dinner Buffet or at the 9 Spoons Lunch Buffet, both of which offer breathtaking views of the metropolis and Manila Bay.

Tomorrow, all mothers get a complimentary dessert when they dine at Raffaele, the hotel’s specialty Italian restaurant. More information on this and the hotel’s other offerings is available at (02) 318-5000.

The Bayleaf Intramuros stands out as the only world-class hotel in The Walled City, where Manila began, and is proud of its being right in the middle of the section of the metropolis that is steep in history and culture.  If Mom is interested in reliving the past and embracing the qualities that make us Filipinos, take her to lunch or dinner at the hotel then walk around the area. You will notice history presenting itself to satisfy your curiosity about our country’s glorious past.

Marco Polo Ortigas

The hotel invites everyone to book a Premier room for Mom today or tomorrow, and get a complimentary breakfast buffet for two adults and two children up to 12 years old, at Cucina, their signature outlet that showcases live action stations featuring flavors from the world’s culinary capitals. The package includes a complimentary 90-minute relaxing spa for Mom.

But if you plan to celebrate Mother’s, Day with a big lunch or dinner with family and friends, the hotel offers authentic Cantonese signature dishes of Lung Hin’s Chinese Executive Chef for only P23,600 for 10 persons. Or, for something more intimate, you may want to delight Mom with a free gift that comes with the luxurious afternoon tea at Connect Lounge, where they have a wide selection of sweet and savory treats, with free flowing coffee and tea.

More information may be obtained from www.marcopolohotels.com or through (02) 720-7777.

The Bayleaf Cavite

This newly opened hotel along busy Governor’s Drive in General Trias, Cavite, has a very attractive month-long Mother’s Day Package which costs only P5,500, inclusive of taxes and service charge. It includes an overnight stay in a Superior room, breakfast for two, one-hour massage for Mom, while Dad feasts on a complimentary lunch buffet.

The Bayleaf Cavite’s free form swimming pool is a favorite among ‘staycationers’

But if you decide to take Mom to lunch tomorrow, the hotel suggests its Atrium Lunch Buffet where Mom eats for free, as long as she dines with four other family members or friends.

The Bayleaf Cavite is the only world-class hotel in the area, with 148 guest rooms and suites, configured to accommodate room requirements from a single bed to as many as four beds in a room.  Designed for both business and leisure functions, the property boast of an all-day dining Cafe, an Entertainment Center, a skylit Atrium Lounge, an outdoor wedding park and a pool bar.  The 45-meter long, free form swimming pool adds a special touch to the hotel’s vibrant atmosphere.

More information is available at (46) 435-5000 in Cavite, (02) 318-5000 in Manila or through [email protected]
