It’s one thing when a skincare brand does a great job at using its expertise to create high-quality skincare products that have become a staple in many consumers’ skincare routines for nearly two centuries now, it’s another when that brand gives back to the people and our planet as well as celebrates its love for countries that have embraced it, especially the Philippines.

I’m talking about none other than Kiehl’s, known for its finest apothecary skincare and has been taking care of various skincare needs for the past 171 years.

For this year’s Lazada Super Brand Day, Kiehl’s highlights Filipinos’ cult-favorite products by creating limited-edition packaging that is exclusively available in the Philippines. This festive packaging which was unveiled to the press and beauty influencers on May 4, put front and center some iconic images that symbolize what the country is known for. Think of vibrant and whimsical illustrations of jeepney, sorbetes, the Mayon Volcano, saranggola or kite, and our beautiful Boracay beach among many others.

Filipino fans can enjoy major discounts and up to 30 freebies for every order of Kiehl’s upgrade offers

Kiehl’s is dressing up the beloved favorites in the new packaging that celebrates Love for the Philippines. Check out the new but temporary look of the Ultra Facial Cream, Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream, Calendula Toner, Skin-Renewing Daily Micro-Dose Retinol Serum, and the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution.

“This initiative stemmed out from Kiehl’s love for the Filipinos, the Philippines, and of course from the Filipinos’ love for the brand. We want to take this as an opportunity to highlight the beauty of the country as well as our culture. Through this initiative, we also want to give a “cheer up” to our fellow Filipinos, especially now that we have been dealing with a crisis for the past two years because of the pandemic,” shares Kiehl’s Philippines General Manager Cary Co-Chua in a one-on-one interview with Manila Standard Lifestyle.

Cary Co-Chua, Kiehl’s Philippines General Manager, during the recently-held unveiling of Kiehl’s Love for the Philippines limited-edition packaging at the Manila House Club in Bonifacio Global City.

Apart from its “Love for the Philippines” campaign, Kiehl’s has continued to stay true to its commitment to the planet and people.

For the past decade, it has supported multiple local Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) that are focused on communities and environmental causes such as the Save Philippines Seas. In 2019, Kiehl’s partnered with the Department of Educations along with local celebrities Richard and Raymond Gutierrez in developing Earthducation Kits — toolboxes that have helped educators turn any space into an eco-learning space, promoting love for the environment among students, and this continued on even during the pandemic.

This year, this beloved brand is once again partnering with Save Philippine Seas by helping fund the Earthducation: Change the Current initiative, which aims to teach 150 public school teachers in-depth information about climate change and encourage them to take action. Through this initiative, a total of 30 teachers will receive P15,000 to implement projects within their own communities. What’s more, with the help of key opinion leaders, Kiehl’s is pledging P1,000 for every media publication that publishes an article and every influencer that posts about the initiative.

As Kiehl’s number one serum, this one is known to do it all — brightens, fades dark spots and pimple marks, improves skin dullness and reduces redness. copy

On May 24, the brand is also hosting a Livestream party counting down to the Kiehl’s Super Brand Day happening on May 25. Every view at the countdown will be equivalent to P1 donation to the Earthducation initiative. In this online music festival streaming on LazLive and Facebook Live, local household names such as Saab Magalona, Jim Bacarro, and Curtismith will be performing.

Asked about the brand’s philosophy, Co-Chua said: “Kiehl’s has always been all about giving and sustainability. We give back to the planet and to the people. This is reflected in our initiatives over the years. Kiehl’s is committed to significantly reducing plastic use, and with the help of our partners, we are going to achieve this. We also love giving. That’s why when you go to one of our stores, we encourage you to try our products first before you buy. We don’t want to just push our products, we want to make sure that the product you are getting is what your skin actually needs.”

Belonging to the Dermatologist
Solutions range, this is the brand’s
breakthrough approach to retinol-
based skincare and this product is
perfect for those starting their skin renewal journey
