Puerto Princesa hotel marks Palawan’s ‘World’s Best Island’ title with anniversary events

Hue Hotels and Resorts Puerto Princesa marked its eighth anniversary with a series of events celebrating Palawan’s recent recognition as the “World’s Best Island” by Condé Nast Traveler magazine.

Located in Palawan’s capital, the boutique hotel launched new culinary offerings, amenities, and entertainment options during a weekend event that also coincided with the global accolade.

The hotel unveiled a revamped menu at its in-house restaurant, La-ud, featuring gourmet seafood, meat, poultry, and vegetarian dishes. Curated by executive chef Edge Limoico, the new dishes include curry mee soup, savory shank, smoked pork ribs, and tuna salad. La-ud also continues to offer its daily breakfast buffet for both walk-in and stay-in guests.

A new group dining feature, a modern take on the traditional Filipino boodle fight, was also introduced. The feast includes over a dozen local favorites and can serve up to 10 guests.

For families with children, Hue opened the Brightbuds Playclub, a space designed for toddlers and young kids.

Flamingo Social, a rooftop pool bar, offers cocktails and spirits inspired by its sister bar in Boracay

The anniversary celebration concluded with the launch of Flamingo Social, a rooftop pool bar offering cocktails and spirits in a setting inspired by its sister bar in Boracay. The opening, led by Hue group general manager Alec Yatco, featured a beach party theme and a fireworks display despite rainy weather.

Flamingo Social offers views of Puerto Princesa’s lush landscape and plays a mix of chillout and dance music in the evenings.

Hue Puerto Princesa, managed by Hospitality Innovators, Inc., features 122 rooms and has earned a 2025 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice award. The hotel also includes function rooms for private events, a gym with cardio and weight equipment, and an in-house spa. Aminah Spa offers Filipino healing therapies and modern treatments, including massages and facials.

Tour services to local attractions such as the Puerto Princesa Underground River and Honda Bay are available through partner agency CML Travel and Tours.

Located three kilometers from the airport, the hotel provides access to both northern and southern Palawan. Robinsons Mall is located nearby. Locally made handwoven crafts from Palawan-based artisans are also available at the hotel lobby.

Hue Hotels said it plans to open a new villa-style property in Siargao Island later this year, in time for the island’s international surfing competition.
