Renowned choreographer Danny Vinculado is leading the online chair dancing classes of Sunshine Place senior recreation center.
To help older adults stay active without the risk of exposure to coronavirus, the classes will be held via Zoom. Chair dancing is a low-impact cardio exercise that helps improve seniors’ memory functions, enhance body movement, and correct posture. While seated in chair, participants stretch their tight shoulders and upper body to the tune of their favorite music.
While it is especially designed for “super seniors,” or those in wheels or walkers, or with hip and lower leg injury or medical procedures, active seniors and non-seniors are also welcome to join the classes. Online class schedules are from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.
