Vivian de Jesus used to have a 9-to-5 job, five days a week. But just like many of us, she has had to shift to a different routine, where her home serves as her office, her husband’s office, their children’s school and playground. “Suddenly, everything is happening in one place,” she said.
Since her job as a client relations officer does not require physical presence, De Jesus has tried working-from-home or at least outside the office before, but this time, she said, is different.
“While it wasn’t much of an adjustment for me, work-wise, it is in other aspects,” she shared.
The working mom of two has transformed their household into a space that accommodates all members’ needs—she does client meetings at her workspace in the bedroom, her husband takes the dining area, and their five-year-old and eight-year-old have the living room for their online classes and playtime.
“I start my day preparing breakfast for the family, then I sign in to work at 10:00 a.m., attending meetings and answering emails. In between work hours, I check on my kids to make sure their doing their lessons. Then I sign off at 5:00 p.m.”
Video conferencing tools are her constant companion, much like many Filipinos who turned to these services such as Zoom to conduct their businesses. On weekends, De Jesus and her family prepare meals or order takeout from their favorite restaurants, which they share together before movie nights.
“Suffice it to say, a strong and reliable Internet connection is important to us,” said De Jesus. “We rely on it for work, for education, for entertainment, and even for acquiring essentials.”

The P999 per month plan comes with an all-in-one DIY modem that can turn regular television into a Smart TV, allowing families to access their favorite YouTube videos on a bigger screen.
For those that require faster speeds, the UNLI Plan 1899, Globe at Home executives said, boasts up to 30 Mbps. The plan comes with a free Android TV Box, an entertainment device that allows users to stream video content on the big screen from their favorite streaming apps, bringing the cinema right at home.
For even faster Internet speed requirement, the UNLI Plan 2899 has speeds of up to 100 Mbps and comes with a pair of TP-Link Deco M5 Wi-Fi Mesh devices that expand Wi-Fi coverage to more areas. Aquino said this was the most practical plan for those who have turned their home into an office and learning space for kids.
The P2,899 per month plan also comes with exclusive access to the Tech Squad VIP service, a customer service team that provides end-to-end support for home Wi-Fi needs.
“Globe At Home’s goal is to provide more Filipino families with high-speed Internet so they can turn their home into whatever they want it to be—whether it’s an office, a classroom, a personal gym, or a cinema,” said Aquino.
All three plans come with a three-month access to iWant and Amazon Prime Video.
