5 things you missed in this year’s largest home fair

Following the success of last year’s SM Home Turnover Fair, the retail giant hosted another round of exclusive discounts and experts led talks for shoppers who came by the SMX Convention Center in SM Mall of Asia on June 28-30.

Over 60 booths showcased home appliances, furniture, and fixtures during the three-day fair. 

The SM Store proved that “everything’s here at SM” as it brought the largest one-stop shop of modern home furniture, fixtures, and appliances brands. 

But what you had really missed during the three-day bonanza was a lot more than a display of home goods. Shoppers and home improvement enthusiasts got to see and experience for themselves what the home fair had to offer. To sum it up, here are the five things you missed at SM Home Fair 2019.

Meet-and-greet with home experts and endorsers

Shoppers got to meet personally and ask questions to home experts regarding their home design issues and problems. 

Some booths featured celebrity endorsers and home experts for a meet-and-greet with the shoppers, including the Kramer family, Tessa Prieto-Valdes, and celebrity chefs Nancy Reyes-Lumen and Gene Gonzalez, among many others. 

Cooking demo with the master chefs

Chef Nancy Reyes-Lumen used Masflex kitchenware in cooking her Family Reunion Dishes. During the chef-led demo, homemakers and foodies were taught how to prepare the exact amount of food during family reunions. 

On the same day, Chef Jonas Ng of Chef Next Door demonstrated new ways of cooking using clay pots from Tefal. Before the day ended, coffee experts Lloyd Eric Lim and Ernesto Mesina Jr., and chefs Kei San, Reggie Aspiras, Ave Bayle, and Loida Arias also showcased their kitchen skills.

Home designing and organizing 101

Attendees got some tips on how to organize their home from celebrity interior designer Tessa Prieto-Valdes. KonMari consultant Christine Dychiao also discussed how the KonMari method can help homemakers in organizing their homes. 

Grace Moslares shared home design inspirations, while the basics of “Color Theory and Color Trends” was tackled by Erika Uichanco-Villanueva. Meanwhile, Issa Reyes enlightened shoppers about organizing things at home with the use of Cascade and Sterilite.

First dibs on latest home appliances and furniture

The three-day fair showcased home products that were exclusive to the event. Some SM Home premium brands offered one-of-a-kind products that wowed attendees during product demonstrations.
