Delicious takeaways for Mother’s Day

Shower your mother with love and all of life’s wonders. Don’t let her slave away in the kitchen on her special day. Go treat her and the family to a meal sweet and savory. Here, we list down a selection available for mom’s special occasion. 

Spanish spread

A burst of flavors in Tapenade’s Spanish Feast which is good for three to four persons.

Celebrate Dia de la Madre with festive Spanish flavors from Discovery Primea’s Tapenade. The three-to-four-person Mother’s Day Spanish Feast it offers starts with croquetas de pollo y trufa with aioli dip, tortilla de patatas, and gambas al ajillo with a baguette.

It also comes with a serving of ensalada campera with seared tuna and mixed greens, but the highlight of the spread are Executive Chef Luis Chikiamco’s paella de mar y montaña (available only on Mother’s Day weekend) made with chicken, chorizo, shrimp, and squid; and pescado al horno featuring oven-baked black sea bass

The meals ends on a sweet note with crema catalana flan with caramel. To make the feast extra special, the set comes with a bottle of Prosecco or non-alcoholic sparkling wine and a box of Madelenas de Chocolate.

Dainty delicacies

Cakes at Baker J are available at 25 percent off. 

Crimson Hotel’s soon-to-open patisserie and boulangerie, Baker J has dainty treats in store for moms on her special day. Surprise her with a breakfast in bed that comes with buttery pastries such as pain au chocolat, cashew praliné, raspberry croissant, madeleine, and more. Or go for a delectable Choco Royale, Dulce de Leche Cheesecake, Red Pearl, or Mango Graham cake at 25 percent off.

Gourmet takeaway

Edsa Shangri-La’s Mother’s Day gift hamper

Who says the family cannot enjoy gourmet while staying safe? Edsa Shangri-La’s Gourmet On the Move Mother’s Day at Home Set menu features a delectable spread of salmon coulibiac, roast chicken casserole with red wine, seafood paella with chorizo and scallops, quinoa and feta stuffed roasted bell peppers, potato lyonnaise with gruyere gratin vegetables, a selection of cupcakes, and chocolate lava with chocolate sauce. This five-person set is available at P3,700 nett for the whole month of May.

The hotel also has a special Mother’s Day Filipino-themed Afternoon Tea Set at P1,700, specialty cakes, and a gift hampers filled with treats starting at P2,500 net. 

Edsa Shangri-La is also opening its al fresco dining setting by the pool for its barbecue a la carte and set menu available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Its al fresco dining also features HEAT and Summer Palace’s favorites, as well as a special Mother’s Day set menu available for the whole month of May.

Roast in a hotbox

Brasserie 3’s Signature Takeaway Feasts prepared by executive Chef Daniel Patterson are served in HotBox for easy reheating.  

Brasserie on 3 at Conrad Manila takes the hassle out of reheating takeaways with its selection of Family Platter, Chef’s Specials, and Family Roast all served in a HotBox—the innovative packaging that instantly reheats meals with a pull of a thread. A complimentary dish goes with a minimum purchase of four items in the menu. 

For Mother’s Day, China Blue by Jereme Leung has a special set menu whose price starts at P3,388 nett; C Lounge offers a takeaway Afternoon High Tea set for two persons at P1,650 nett; and Bru Coffee Bar serves a collection of floral-themed pastries, cakes, and chocolates starting at P500 nett.

Crockpot and cakes

Mama’s Crockpot Special from Marriott Manila includes slow-cooked beef roulade, sides, and a cake. 

For a complete meal that’s good for three to four persons, Marriott Manila offers Mama’s Crockpot Special (P3,700 nett) that comes with a Classic Slow-Cooked Beef Roulade (1.5kg) in mushroom sauce served with fettuccini pasta in black truffle cream, buttery whipped potatoes, and sautéed organic vegetable medley. Each order of this set also comes with a Makeup Kit Cake made with moist chocolate cake, salted chocolate caramel ganache, chocolate butter cream, and fondant icing.
