Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila celebrates Wine Days 2017 in a series of events that are a truly sensory experience. 

The Sky-High Soirée: Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite Cocktails launched the celebration on Sept. 19 at the Sofitel helipad, featuring the finest wines from one of the most renowned Bordeaux châteaux, Château Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite starting the annual celebration of the French harvest in a series of special events and animations centered on wine and gastronomy. 

One of the fine First Growth classified châteaux from the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855, Château Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite is a top producer of some of the world’s most expensive red wines.

The journey of wine continues as one steps in the lobby transformed into La Grande Epicerie de Paris, a renowned high-end Parisian store, featuring a wide selection of wines and cheese bar for the discerning gourmand. 

Every Sunday Brunch until Oct. 29, Spiral features vintage from renowned wine regions including Argentina, Loire Valley, Burgundy, California and Australia. Guests may delight their taste buds with a variety of artisanal wine and champagne jam by artisan Pierre Marmonier.

Sofitel celebrates Wine Days 2017 with a series of events

The most discerning connoisseurs may taste the world’s most expensive champagnes on the Oct. 17 as Spiral presents The Bubbly: Exclusive Champagne Tasting featuring top-tiered vintages Moët & Chandon, Krug and Dom Pérignon exclusive for only 10 guests.

Sofitel’s wine sommeliers take guests on a journey through the rich wine regions of France with The Art of Wine, a wine appreciation class. An afternoon of surprising discoveries and excellent wine pairings awaits guests on Oct. 19 at Spiral. 

On Oct. 22, Spiral presents Vendange Brunch featuring wine tasting of 40 different wines produced in regions that harvest in the month of October. Guests may also get a special glimpse of old-style grape stomping, a traditional winemaking method wherein grapes are crushed to release its juices and begin fermentation.

Gastronomes may learn the intricate art of wine and cheese pairing in a Private Wine and Cheese Class held every Sunday in Spiral’s L’Epicerie. Various combinations of artisanal cheese and the finest vintage from renowned wine regions are highlighted in an enriching and exclusive engagement ideal for a maximum of 10 gourmands and connoisseurs.

Le Bar presents Voyage du Vin (Voyage of Wine) featuring a selection of New World and Old World wines every Friday and Saturday until Oct. 28. A selection of wine-based cocktails is also offered including Kir Cassis, Rosé Pamplemousse and Soupe de Champagne. Music takes center stage as Le Bar’s resident wine experts curate a premium wine list paired with a soothing playlist.

Snaps Sports Bar tickles the palate with delightfully flavorful and colorful sangrias. Featuring red, white, sparkling and rosé wines, this fruity punch with a twist is available by the glass or may shared with friends by the pitcher.

Sofitel Wine Dinners are held regularly featuring world-renowned wine regions and vineyards in celebration of gastronomy and wine, traditionally French and truly Sofitel.
