As the badly hit hospitality industry slowly gets back on its feet, the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association announced on Wednesday huge discounts from its member hotels and resorts nationwide.

The September Online Sale or SOS, happening on September 15-30, will offer up to 70 percent discount on regular rates as well as promos and packages.

“Some of the promos are valid for up to a year—and even more—while the others have no expiration on their validity,” HSMA spokesperson Pearl Maclang said during a virtual press conference.

Filipinos who are planning to travel when restrictions are lifted can take advantage of the huge discounts available at the online travel mart.

“For travelers, the SOS is both a limited-time offer that can help them save on their next trip and a chance to help the Philippine tourism industry bounce back from COVID-19,” said Maclang.

According to organizers, the program also aims to sustain the jobs of about 5.7 million hospitality employees and workers nationwide.

HSMA president Christine Ann Ibarreta admitted the unprecedented impact of the pandemic caught the industry off guard. “This is our worst nightmare,” she said.

But life goes on.

HSMA ensures the health and safety protocols are implemented in the featured hotels.

“Most hotels and resorts are ready with all health, safety, sanitation protocols, and are well-prepared to welcome guests again,” said HSMA chair Margarita Munsayac.

Munsayac continued, “Months of quarantine have enabled these properties to plan carefully and in detail all these protocols, as prescribed by the government, to ensure safety of guests as well as employees.”

Among the participating hotels are Belmont Hotel Manila, Discovery Primea, Makati Shangri-La, Seda BGC, Marco Polo Ortigas Manila, Twin Lakes Hotel, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, Discovery Shores Boracay, and Quest Hotel and Conference Center Cebu.

Interested wanderers may check for vouchers and promos of participating resorts and hotels at https://hsma.org.ph/sos/.
