The country’s flag carrier, Philippine Airlines, boosts its Clark, Cebu, and Davao hubs with the scheduled arrival of 15 new aircrafts within the year.
New routes and hikes in flight frequencies are being introduced as PAL accepts delivery of five additional Next-Generation Bombardier Q400, in addition to the first five that arrived in 2017, and six new Airbus A321neos starting May. Four Airbus A350-900 trans-oceanic aircraft will also arrive starting +June.
The multi-hub expansion aims to improve domestic and international connections in the Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao regions.
“We are no longer just a Manila-centric airline,” said PAL president and chief operating officer Jaime Bautista.
The internationally certified 4-Star airline recently introduced its Davao-Siargao flight which flies four times weekly. On the back of strong demand, PAL has increased frequency of its Cebu-Siargao and Davao-Tagbilaran flights. It will also ramp up number of flights in its Davao-Clark, Cebu-Bangkok, Cagayan de Oro-Clark, Cebu-Busuanga, Clark-Busuanga, and Cebu-Clark routes.
PAL currently flies to 16 domestic and seven international points from Cebu, 14 domestic and one international points from Clark, and six domestic points from Davao.
To compensate for the impending closure of Boracay, additional frequencies between Manila and Dumaguete, CDO, Iloilo, Cebu, Puerto Princesa, and Bacolod will be offered starting in April or May,
