AWLFI to sponsor exhibit

The Association of Women Legislators, Inc, and the UP College of Fine Arts Alumni Foundation will sponsor a group exhibit on Feb. 19 to 21 at the North Wing of the House of Representatives in Quezon City. 

Entitled “Arts for Hearts Sake,” the exhibit, initiated by Rep. Michaelina Antonio of AGBIAG Party-list, will feature works by 25 artists and alumni from the UP College of Fine Arts. 

Featured artists include Nestor Vinluan, Ambie Abano, Jeff  Dizon, Romy Carlos, Menchu Pascual, Hugo Yonzon, Neil Doloricon, Anna Vergel, Imelda C. Endaya and Paul Queaño, among many others. A total of 60 artwork, including oil and acrylic paintings, watercolors, etchings, monoprints, and sculptures will be on display. 

The proceeds from the exhibition will benefit the scholarship program of the UP CFA.

AWLFI president and Bulacan Representative Linabelle Ruth Villarica said the partnership with UP alumni artists aims to showcase the importance of arts and culture in Philippine life and to celebrate the month of love in a unique and meaningful way.  

“We would like to convey the message that the House of Representatives fully supports the endeavors of Filipino artists, and we are hopeful that through this exhibit, more Filipinos will see the bounty of artistic endeavors in the Philippines and the passion of Filipino artists and cultural workers,” added Rep. Antonio.
