Art 2 Art focuses on various aspects of heritage preservation this September.

Produced by the Manila Broadcasting Company and hosted by “Ballerina ng Bayan” Lisa Macuja, it airs every Sunday, 3:30 to 4 p.m., on DZRH (666 khz on the AM band), on RHTV (Ch. 129 on Skycable in Metro Manila, Ch. 18 on Cignal TV and Ch. 3 on Cablelink) and online live streaming on http://dzrhnews television.tv.

The show may also be viewed through the Facebook account DZRH News Television.

On Sept. 10, resource persons from Malolos discuss why their city has been declared a National Historical Landmark. Tourism marketing and promotion sector head Marichelle Bernardo explains the local government’s “Vamos a Malolos” campaign while Katrina Aniag and Bing Tubid of Lihan Malolos Tours list the city’s attractions, from the Barosoain Church to an array of historic houses.

On Sept. 17, it’s the turn of Marikina to be in the spotlight. Ponchie Santos and Luming Aquino of the Marikina Tourism and Cultural Office relate the history of the city acclaimed as the “Shoe Capital of the Philippines.” They also discuss local attractions, from museums and parks to events such as the Sapatos Festival, Ka-Angkan Festival and Rehiyon-Rehiyon Festival.

On Sept. 24, Architect Gerard Lico gives an update on the ongoing rehabilitation of the Manila Metropolitan Theater. After being purchased by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts in 2015, the Juan Arellano-designed theater has undergone clean up and repair and is being eyed as an eventual art and culture hub in the heart of Manila.
