El Nido is once again drawing international attention after being named among the world’s best beach escapes by the BBC.
In a feature by BBC writer Francis Agustin, the Palawan destination was highlighted for its mix of beaches across limestone islands and archipelagos, offering travelers access to secluded coves and lagoons.
Visitors can explore the area through island-hopping tours using speedboats, catamarans, or traditional Filipino bangkas, with activities such as swimming, kayaking, and snorkeling.
“After a long day at sea, you can explore other white sand beaches on the mainland like Las Cabanas, Lio or Corong Corong. There’s nothing like cracking open a cold bottle of San Miguel and watching the deep red and golden skies as the sun sets,” Agustin wrote.
El Nido joins a global list that includes beach destinations in Tasmania, New York, Scotland, Italy, Puerto Rico, and India.
Located at the northern tip of Palawan, El Nido is known for its limestone cliffs, turquoise lagoons, and white-sand shores. One of its sites, Entalula Beach, recently ranked second on the World’s 50 Best Beaches list for 2025, climbing from fourth place the previous year.
