PH-France diplomacy celebrates 75 years via hybrid forum

FRAncoFIL, a hybrid forum celebrating the 75 years of Philippine-French diplomatic relations, will be conducted on October 5.

The discussion aims to raise awareness and appreciation of the diverse opportunities made possible by the good ties between the two nations.

Among the featured speakers are Ambassador Cristina G. Ortega, former Philippine Ambassador to France and the present President of Alliance Française de Manille; H.E. Michèle Boccoz, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Republic of the Philippines; and Ambassador Marilyn Alarilla, former Philippine Ambassador to Turkey and Azerbaijan.

They will highlight the rich history between the two countries, which was established with the signing of the Treaty of Amity in Paris on June 26, 1947 by then-Philippine Vice President and Foreign Affairs Secretary Elpidio Quirino and former French Minister for Foreign Affairs Georges Bidault.

The gathering discusses the time-honored friendship between Philippines and France, which deepened in several areas including education, development, trade, culture, and defense.

Ambassador Marilyn Alarilla, former Philippine Ambassador to Turkey and Azerbaijan and current educator for Benilde School of Diplomacy and Governance (SDG)

In partnership with the Embassy of France to the Philippines and Micronesia and the Alliance Française de Manille, the event is organized by the School of Diplomacy and Governance (SDG) of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB).

FRAncoFIL is open to the general public via Zoom on October 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
