The concert series Sunshine Classics continues this year with Manila Piano Trio’s first live concert in the “new normal.”
The concert is a collaboration between Sunshine Place Recreation Center and pianist Mariel Ilusorio, sponsored by 98.7 DZFE and Holland Buela.
The live concert will take place on July 15 at 2 pm at the roof deck of Sunshine Place, Senior Recreation Center, 56 Jupiter Street Barangay Bel-Air, Makati. Seats must be reserved and purchased before the event, to control maximum capacity. The concert will be recorded live and available online starting July 25.
The Manila Piano Trio will perform Mozart’s “Piano Trio in G major,” and K496 and Astor Piazzolla’s “Four Seasons.”
Officially formed in late 2017 with pianist Abelardo Goco Galang II, violinist Denise Santos Huang, and cellist Antoni Josef Inacay, the Manila Piano Trio combines the passion, temperament, excellence, and dedication of three of the country’s most outstanding musicians who are accomplished performers and established pedagogies.
All three artists took their undergraduate studies in the Philippines. Both Huang and Inacay further trained in the US (San Francisco State University and Boston Conservatory, respectively) while Galang took further training in Japan (Musashino Music Academy, Tokyo) and Germany (Hans Eisler Music Academy and Technical University Berlin).
The Manila Piano Trio has performed concerts in Xiamen and Cairo, besides performing in the Philippines.
