Before we welcomed the new year, trend experts declared metallic statement, as in metallic accents in eyeliners and mascara, was a look expected to be seen more in 2015.

In the first month of this year, Japanese makeup brand shu uemura launched its Spring/Summer collection featuring the metallic trend in various splash of colors.

Shu uemura’s Metal:ink collection features metallic eyeliners and
eyeshadows in Spring/Summer colors.

The world-renowned makeup label is not one to miss what’s vogue that’s why on January 27, shu uemura staged a collaborative fashion show with the country’s hottest fashion designers and makeup artists to unveil its 2015 Spring/Summer metallic bouquet collection.

Its star product, Metal:ink by shu uemura is a collection of 10 vibrant metallic shades of long-lasting liquid eyeliners, four metallic trio eyeshadow palette, the Metallic Bouquet false eyelashes and—the only products not for your peepers—the Limited Edition Rouge Unlimited lipsticks.

Shu uemura’s latest line is a dramatic marriage of metals and blooming flowers that creates a glaringly colorful and lustrous look for the eyes. Available in black, brown, navy, purple, red, blue, pink, green, silver and gold, the Metal:ink eyeliner collection allows both makeup artists and beauty enthusiasts to discover an entirely new metallic look that are feminine, playful, and versatile.

It also promises 24-hour lasting and intense color payoff that stands tears, blinks, and sweat. It also boasts of a flexible brush tip for easier and faster application with precision and controllability.

Meanwhile, the eyeshadow palettes come in four variations of beautiful metallic hues in multi-pressed pans. These trios provide shades for all three essential eye makeup components—base, highlight, and accent.

Shu uemura’s eyeshadow palette comes in copper dahlia, platinum plumeria, silver viola, and white gold daisy.

At the launch of shu uemura’s latest collection, models walked the runway in dresses designed by Eric delos Santos, Milka Quin, and Sassa Jimenez.

Milka Quin, and Sassa Jimenez.

The contemporary look of delos Santos, graphic and textured design of Jimenez, and the neutral and classic showcase of Quin were complemented by looks created by shu uemura’s esteemed roster of shuMasters.

The nine makeup artists, who exhibited their makeup flair, were Angie Cruz, EJ Malorca, Riza de Guzman, Cats del Rosario, Claire Diokno, Hanna Pechon, John Pagaduan, Omar Ermita, and Patrick Alcober.

Perfectly demonstrating the gorgeous combination of metal and bloom, the makeup artists painted the models with winged-tip eyes, subtle to bold shadows, and even blooming lines resembling those of fireworks’.

“After shu uemura relaunched locally last October, when the Tokyo-edge culture hit Philippine shores, this is the first new collection to come in that really embodies that new look that shu uemura is after,” she shares, said L’Oreal Philippines Luxe Division general manager Clarissa Villaflor.

“Besides that, the product is perfect in demonstrating a strong suit that shu uemura has—expertise in eye makeup,” she added.

Metal:ink by shu uemura is now available at all shu uemura branches and boutiques at Powerplant Mall, Rockwell, Trinoma, Alabang Town Center, Shangri-La Mall, SM Makati, and Rustans Makati.
