Is there a better version of yourself?

Who doesn't want the best? Perhaps no one. This is why we constantly hone, develop and even reinvent ourselves and the things around us. But when do we fail to achieve the best?

When we settle.

KC Concepcion stepped from her mom’s shadow and into her own
spotlight by simply refusing to settle.

In many cases settling is not the worst idea, but for someone who wants to be the best version of herself, going for the easy and comfortable isn't the way to go. Here in the Philippines, it is the women who usually settle for "pwede na" most likely in career or love. A skin care label wants to change that.

In keeping with its dedication to make women look and feel their best beautiful every day, Procter & Gamble's Olay launches the third installment of its Olay Conversations. The first two seasons of the webisode featured stories about fearlessness and being proud of your age. This season aims to empower women through the stories of three inspiring ladies who, despite obstacles and criticisms, strive to continuously improve to be the best version of themselves.

"For this season of Olay Conversations, we chose three women who are at the top of their career but still constantly try to be even better," says Procter & Gamble brand communications manager Deirdre de Padua.

Showbiz royalty and actress KC Concepcion, teen queen Kathryn Bernardo and luxury goods designer Bea Valdes talked about the challenges they faced and how they overcame them, as well as how they refuse to settle for anything less than the best.

Her own spotlight

Being a child of popular actors could be a curse or a blessing, and for Concepcion, it was more of the former.

"It was really hard growing up because kino-compare nila ako sa kanya (Sharon Cuneta)," Concepcion relates to Boy Abunda on her Olay Conversations webisode.

Having a mother as popular as Sharon Cuneta, it was tough for the 29-year-old actress to step from her mom's shadow and into her own spotlight.

"I wasn't getting rave reviews on my acting in my first two years of mainstream career," she admits, but Concepcion eventually found her niche in the industry and received recognitions from being bida-kontrabida.

She may be a couple more steps away from her parents' achievements but Concepcion is not resting on her laurels yet as she continuously improves herself to become more beautiful inside and out.

"Being your #BestBeautiful means you're beautiful as you are. But you shouldn't settle for less, always find ways to improve yourself," she concludes.

Teen Queen at 18

Kathryn Bernardo

At a young age, Bernardo has already received one too many rejections. On her webisode, she recounted how many times she was turned down in auditions for commercials and TV shows.

Despite those rejections, Bernardo's desire to be an actress did not wane. In fact, she used those experiences and persevered until finally, her hard work was recognized.

At a young age, Bernardo has already received one too many recognitions, has starred in numerous TV shows and movies, and has accomplished a lot in various facets of her career.

She believes to be the best, one must not be afraid to improve and to step forward.

"Aminado akong maraming mas maganda sa'yo, mas talented sa'yo, pero 'di naman puwedeng magmukmok ka na lang. Kailangan i-improve mo yung sarili mo para every time na makikita ka ng tao may makikita silang bago sa'yo, 'di sila magsasawa sa'yo (I admit there are other actresses who are prettier and much talented, but that doesn't mean you'll just sulk in a corner. You have to improve yourself so you can offer the public something new)," says Bernardo.

Designing her path

Valdes could have simply settled for what's easy. Coming from a family of fine jewelry trading, she could simply adopt her family’s three generations' worth of traditions and experiences, but she decided to develop it further.

She studied interior design in London and used it to create her own designs. Now internationally acclaimed accessories and bag designer, Valdes' bravery to pursue her passion is something Olay wants for more women to exemplify.

Becoming your #BestBeautiful

To help women look and feel their #BestBeautiful every day, Olay introduces its Total Effects Pore Minimizing line. The products in this collection promise to give consumers even, younger-looking skin instantly and with continued use.

The Olay Total Effects Toner (P849 for 150ml) visibly reduces the appearance of pores. It helps exfoliate and hydrate the skin to reveal younger-looking, airbrush-finish skin.

Meanwhile, the Olay Total Effects Pore Minimizing CC Cream (P499 for 20g and P999 for 50g) minimizes the look of pores from the first use and helps fight six more out of the seven signs of skin aging: fine lines and wrinkles, uneven tone, age spots, uneven texture, dryness, and dullness. It comes in light and medium shades.
