Angeles City—The local government here, intending to help local industries reeling from global pandemic especially the handicraft, novelty and furniture manufacturing sector, urged the public over the weekend to buy Angeles products to help them recover from the effects of the health crisis.
Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin, Jr. launched "Gawang Angeleno" products, a marketing strategy that would help and find markets—domestic and abroad—for locally produced items.
The "buy Gawang Angeleno" products focus not only on the quality of products but also the skills and genuine talent of locals in Angeles and at the same time give them a sustainable livelihood, said Lazatin.
Part of the marketing strategy, Lazatin said. was the strengthening of the existing One Town One Product (OTOP) stores of the Department of Trade and Industry where local products would be displayed for sale.
Training for selected beneficiaries will be conducted by different departments to ensure the success of the program.
The city government has mapped out strategies to help promote Angeleno-made products by tapping various social media platforms.
