Leni bandwagon continues to pick up more Aksyon officials

More independent and local candidates from Aksyon Demokratiko are throwing their support for the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo for the forthcoming May 9 polls.

Among them are Tagbilaran City (Bohol) Vice Mayor Jose Antonio “Toto” S. Veloso running for mayor, vice mayoralty bet lawyer Agustinus V. Gonzaga, City Councilor bets lawyer Hermelo Butron, Rey Ramon Inting, Danilo Abellana, Hermelo Butron, and Rodolfo Madanguit, all running under the Aksyon Demokratiko Party.

Also supporting Robredo were Greggy Gatal and Jonas Cacho of the Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino, both candidates for the Tagbilaran City Council in Bohol province.

Through a signed statement, representatives of various political parties in Tagbilaran City declared their support for the candidacy of VP Leni.

“We believe that it’s high time we switch our support to the most winnable candidate— VP Leni Robredo — to save the country and our hard-earned democracy,” the statement read.

Independent candidates for mayor, Basilio G. Ramos and vice mayor, Christian Jay D. Jalayahay, for Catbalogan City, Samar said: “We believe the platform for government of VP Robredo, and her courage to face the challenges ahead, towards economic prosperity.”

Among those who threw their separate individual statements of support were Baungon Vice Mayor Philip Ragudo of Bukidnon, Valencia City Vice Mayor Dr. Policarpio Murillo of Bukidnon, Pasig City candidate for councilor Rey De Jesus; mayoralty candidate Emerson Luego of Mabini, Davao de Oro; and Jhong Ceniza, mayoralty candidate for the municipality of Pantukan, Davao de Oro.

Aside from the local candidates, the AGILA party, through its Deputy Secretary-General, lawyer Joseph Manganduga, and the Bagong Noypi Northern Mindanao and CARAGA chapters, respectively led by Rowena Jaffar and Jeoff Marshall Cortez, and Business Processing Office operator Brendalynne Clemen, also shifted their support to Robredo by aligning with the IM k Leni group, or Isang Mamamayan kay Leni, the new grassroots organization formed by Ikaw Muna (IM) Pilipinas.
