Caloocan joined the TikTok Challenge in celebration of Teacher's Day amid the pandemic.
A total of 21 public schools took part in the challenge for the 'Lodi kong Dancer Ma'am and Sir' Tiktok challenge in Caloocan City.
According to Councilor Vince Hernandez, the competition is in recognition of the sacrifice and efforts of teachers to still promote learning despite the pandemic challenges facing and as a celebration of World Teachers Month which received praise from the city Mayor Oscar Malapitan.
The ‘Lodi Kong Dancer Ma’am and Sir’ Tiktok Challenge is limited to teachers in District 1 of Caloocan City while the contest is still being organized in Districts 2 and 3.
Among those who will join in the challenge were Antonio Luna Elementary School, Antonio Luna High School, Antonio Uy Tan Senior High School, Baesa High School, Bagbaguin Elementary School, Bagong Barrio Elementary School, Bagong Barrio National High School, Bagong Silang High School, Bagumbong Elementary School, Bagumbong High School, Benigno Aquino Jr. High School.
Also participating were Camarin Elementary School, Camarin High School, Caloocan National Science and Technology High School, Congress Elementary School, Deparo Elementary School, Llano High School, Rene Cayetano Elementary School, Sto. Nino Elementary School, Talipapa High School and Urduja Elementary School.
From the 21 entries, the Top 5 entries will be selected to compete in the second part of the contest.
They will be selected through 20% concept, 20% choreography and 10% creativity from the jurors and 50% popularity that will come from the heart react on the Facebook Page of the ConVinced Army.
The popularity phase of the Tiktok challenge started on September 13 and will end Saturday afternoon, September 18 when the jurors have already had deliberation on the entries.
Hernandez said it is important for teachers to also feel the gratitude and recognition for all they do, especially in this time of pandemic.
The winner will be announced in conjunction with the World Teachers' Day celebration on October 3, 2021.
The grand winner for the TikTok Challenge will receive P30,000 while the 1st runner up will have a prize of P20,000 and P10,000 for the 2nd runner up in addition to surprise prizes for the other participants.
