Another major project will begin its construction in Caloocan City under the administration of Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan.

This is after the city and PAGCOR held the groundbreaking and time-capsule laying rites for the two-storey Multi-Purpose Evacuation Center in Phase 1 Barangay 171, Caloocan, funded with P50 million.

This is the first ever PAGCOR Multi-Purpose Rescue Building to be built in the whole of Metro Manila. Malapitan thanked PAGCOR for choosing Caloocan City to be the beneficiary of this project.

“Caloocan City is blessed because this will definitely help our Disaster Management and Rescue Operations which will serve as a safe haven for our people in times of need,” said Malapitan.

According to the mayor, Disaster Management and Rescue Operations is one of his priorities since taking office as mayor of Caloocan, including the establishment of a 24/7 command center, construction of the Rescue Building and purchase of equipment for rescue operations.
