The Caloocan City Government and Meralco have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the expedited process of electrical permits and Certificate of Final Electrical Inspection (CFEI) applications of the residents.

On behalf of Mayor Oca Malapitan, City Administrator Engr. Oliver Hernandez signed the MOU with the Meralco officials led by Meralco Caloocan Business Center Head Maria Corazon Pilapil and Meralco Camarin Business Center Head Alleni Pascual.

The MOU states that after the survey conducted by Meralco, the resident or applicant will go to the Office of the City Building Official (OCBO) only once for their application for electrical wiring permit and CFEI.

After that, OCBO will forward the document online to Meralco, which is necessary to carry out the electric meter application.

“This will make it faster and easier for electric meter application processors. If it used to take two weeks or more, now it can be fixed within a week. In addition, it will also reduce the cost and their exposure to the release now that there is a (COVID-19) pandemic,” said Hernandez.
