About 161,617 Caloocan beneficiaries have already received their financial assistance from April 7 to April 14 by the City Government.

According to the Caloocan City Social Welfare and Development Department (CCSWD), Caloocan is one of the leading local government units in distributing financial assistance despite being one of the country’s largest cities.

Caloocan has 188 total barangays and also holds the country’s largest village, Barangay 176, in terms of land area and population.

“Under Mayor Oca Malapitan’s directive, we are trying to reach or if we can afford to finish the distribution before the 15-day deadline,” CCSWD Action Officer Roberto Quizon said.

According to Quizon, the City Government has worked with USSC, a money remittance company, to accelerate the financial aid distribution system.

It has even used the talent and capabilities of several students at the University of Caloocan City, who served as paymasters for each payout venue.

About 368,925 families in Caloocan are set to receive financial assistance from a list from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, which has assigned the City Government to distribute it.

“For the beneficiaries who have not yet received a text message for the schedule of receiving the financial assistance, please wait for it. In a few days, your barangays will be included in the scheduled distribution,” Quizon assured.

Meanwhile, the total number of persons vaccinated against Covid-19 in Caloocan City reached 32,224 as of Thursday.

In the A1 category or Active Medical and Healthcare workers, 5,828 have been vaccinated.

In the A2 category or senior citizens, a total of 6,315 have been vaccinated, while in the A3 or those with comorbidities between 18 and 59 years old, 20,081 have been also vaccinated.

All vaccination sites ensure that those who are inoculated undergo screening, counseling, and monitoring.

The city government is once again encouraging everyone on the priority list to get vaccinated as well.

For those who want to get vaccinated, they can go to the nearest health centers in their barangay for profiling and pre-registration, or just visit this link: bit.ly/profilingcalv2
