Manila teachers, principals, listed A2-A3 get jab

Manila teachers and principals, both retired and active, were inoculated on Tuesday by the local government during the continuation of its vaccination rollout as the number of peoplq already inoculated in the city had reached 76,690.

The vaccination, led by Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan, was held at the Palacio de Manila on Roxas Boulevard in Ermita, Manila, for teachers and principals belonging to the A2 and A3 categories, or those who are senior citizens or aged 18 to 59 with comorbidities.

Meanwhile, Manila Mayor Francisco Domagoso  thanked Health Secretary Francisco Duque III for the arrival of ten brand-new and fully-equipped ambulances for distribution to the six hospitals being run by the city.

Domagoso personally received the ambulances along with Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan and Manila Health Department Acting City Health Officer Arnold Pangan.

Domagoso Says the ambulances will be a great help not only for COVID patients but for those with other life-threatening illnesses.

He called on those who would be driving the ambulances to treat them with utmost care, saying they were essential in helping save lives.

Regarding the ongoing payout of the social amelioration program (funds from the national government, the mayor commended the Manila Department of Social Welfare, led by Director Re Fugoso and the social workers, for working even on weekends so that the total number of those who have already received their cash aid has already reached over 100,000 as of the other night.

The city government’s food security program is also continuing to complement the cash aid. Now on its third consecutive month, the FSP has so far covered 299,000 families out of the targeted 700,000 families in the entire city, all in just a period of five days of non-stop delivery.

Once again, Domagoso appealed to barangay chairmen to dispatch at once the food boxes once they were delivered to their barangays.
