Pasay City Mayor Imelda Rubiano has assured that the programs and benefits intended for students and senior citizens will continue despite some difficulties caused by the continuing threat of the pandemic.

“For our students here, we are now working on your allowances and are just waiting for the Department of Education to complete the modules and we will give it to you,” said Rubiano.

The city chief executive also reminded the city’s elderly people to avail of the programs that the local government has been offering to them such as free medical check-ups and medicines under the so-called ‘Take Care, I Care’ program.

“To our senior citizens, we are continuing our programs to make sure that you are in good condition. We are inviting you to avail of consultations with our doctors through the telemedicine system,” she said.

Telemedicine is medical care provided by the city hall to the people in which patients remotely consult a physician while they were in separate locations using two-way voice and visual communication such as computer or mobile phone.

Mayor Rubiano reiterated her call to her constituents to be vigilant and strictly observe basic health protocols to avoid contracting the virus and stop its spread.

She noted that the cases only spiked in the last month after reports of discovery of new variants.

Rubiano likewise noted that the Department of Health and OCTA Research are both supporting the localized lockdowns that they have been implementing in the city as a means to avert the spread of the virus.

The mayor reiterated her call for the people to support the planned vaccination program against Covid-19.
