Man peddling students’ nudes nabbed by NBI

Operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation-Cybercrime Division on Saturday arrested a man in Tayuman, Manila who peddled nude photos of students by using his Facebook account.

The NBI identified the suspect as Bonifacio Cordero.

The suspect resisted arrest, but the NBI agents eventually overwhelmed him.

“At first, he only provides photos. Then up to a point, there is physical meet-up. That’s the actual danger,” NBI Cybercrime Division chief Head Agent Vic Lorenzo said.

The NBI discovered several photos and profiles of various women used by the suspect in his operations.

Authorities also rescued an 18-year-old woman who has been trafficked by the suspect over 20 times.

“If they could convince our minors, our students to provide the photos, they could easily convince them in the actual meet-up,” Lorenzo said.

The suspect did not deny the accusation.

“That’s not what I really want. We’re not going to do that if they don’t like it. I’m willing to change,” the suspect said.

Cordero is facing charges for violation of the Anti-Human Trafficking Law.
