Navotas sends rice to help typhoon-hit Batangas town

Navotas extended assistance to another local government unit that was badly hit by typhoons Quinta, Rolly, and Ulysses.

The city government provided 100 sacks of rice in 50-kilo packaging to Mabini, Batangas, Monday.

The relief operation was made after Mabini’s Municipal Administrator, Atty. Gerville R. Luistro asked Navotas for help.

“Though our city is still grappling with the effects of the pandemic, we still fare better compared to others. For this, we are thankful, and we want to help those in need as much as we can,” Mayor Toby Tiangco said.

Mabini, Batangas has an estimated population of 100,000.

Earlier, Navotas sent food packs containing rice, canned goods, instant coffee, instant noodles, and bottled water, mats and blankets, and other items to Cagayan.

The city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office also assisted in the rescue and relief operations in the said province, and in Marikina City.
