4 minors who snatched Bello’s phone caught

The Manila Police District (MPD) arrested four minors who allegedly snatched the cellphone of Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, just two days after the labor chief lost his phone.

The minor boys, aged 15 to 18 years old, were apprehended in Manila by MPD cops. The suspects allegedly sold Bello’s phone for P25,000.

Police also arrested the man who allegedly bought Bello’s phone for violation of the anti-fencing law.

A report from the Ermita Police Station indicated the first two suspects were arrested after a follow-up operation along Elisondo Street in Quiapo, Manila on Sunday, November 8.

Two others were arrested later during a follow-up operation.

This comes after Bello’s mobile phone was snatched along the vicinity of the Manila City Hall and Mehan Garden on Friday, November 6. Willie Casas

Bello, the 28th Secretary of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), was appointed into office by President Rodrigo Duterte in 2016.
