The Las Pinas City government has launched an online system for building permit applications to limit physical interaction and further prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease.

The One Stop Shop Building Permit Application system, initiated by the city’s Office of the City Engineer, also aimed to provide a centralized database for files of the OCE and Building Official at city hall.

An applicant only needs to download the application forms using a default camera or third-party application, scan the QR Code or visit the link through web browser https://bit.ly/lpengineeringforms.

City chief engineer Rosabella Bantog said the new system has the full support of Mayor Imelda Aguilar and Vice Mayor April Aguilar-Neri, who both believed that the shift from manual to digital system would ease transition in the processes of application for a building permit based on guidelines set by the Anti-Red Tape Law.

“The online application would result to minimal face-to-face transaction in compliance with COVID-19 health protocol and also bring less opportunity for graft and corruption,” Bantog said.

As COVID-19 quarantine status in Metro Manila was put to a minimum ease last July, the OCE initially implemented the digital processing application for Certified Final Electrical Inspection (CFEI) after an agreement signed with Manila Electric Co.

The CFEI is a requirement for electricity connection in residential, commercial or business establishment, health and hospital facilities and schools.
