Las Piñas donates P11M to city grads

The Las Piñas City government has announced that it will give financial assistance to 11,000 students who had graduated from public schools in the city this year.

Las Piñas City Mayor Vergel “Nene” Aguilar said he has donated P11 million to be given to all students who graduated for the school year 2019-2020.

Aguilar said each student will get P1,000 as a personal gift.

“The best gift that we can give to all our students is education. I just wanted to help the city residents, especially now that our country is facing a crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic,” he said.

Among those who will receive the financial assistance are graduate students from elementary and senior high schools and the Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Memorial College (DFCAM).

There are 8,401 elementary school graduates, 2,173 in senior high and another 284 from DFCAM.
