11 more QC villages added to extreme lockdown

Another 11 villages in Quezon City have been placed under extreme lockdown due to a high incidence of coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) infection.

In a statement released early Tuesday, the city government said barangays Manresa, Paltok and Sto. Domingo in District 1; barangays Bagong Silangan, Holy Spirit, and Payatas in District 2; barangays Marilag and Socorro in District 3; and barangays Kamuning, Pinyahan and Barangay San Isidro Galas in District 4 were placed under the extreme enhanced community quarantine on Monday.

Those previously placed under extreme lockdown were barangays Tandang Sora, Kalusugan, Ramon Magsaysay, Maharlika, Tatalon, Batasan Hills, Pasong Tamo, Central, San Roque, Paligsahan, Bagong Lipunan ng Crame, South Triangle, Culiat, Bahay Toro, E. Rodriguez, San Isidro Labrador, Old Balara and Teachers Village.

Old Balara has the highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases at 22, followed by Batasan Hills at 21, Tandang Sora at 19, Bahay Toro at 14 and Pasong Tamo at 13.

As of April 6, 7 p.m., the city has 583 COVID-19 cases with 34 total deaths and 15 persons who were able to recover.

Mayor Joy Belmonte has also issued Executive Order No. 25, mandating residents to wear any form of covering for the nose and mouth in public places. The city's traffic enforcers will distribute face masks to people who do not have one.
