Makati Mayor Abigail Binay made a cryptic post on social media, hinting at getting ready for an “exciting” chapter in life where she will have the last laugh over people who have hurt her in the past.
“Note to self: Sila ang nag-umpisa, ikaw ang magtatapos. Kapit lang. Papunta na tayo sa exciting part,” she said in her Facebook caption on her throwback post from 2019.
In the original post five years ago, Binay wrote: “People have hurt me, kicked me to the curb and tried their best to put me down. I cry myself to sleep and ask why are there people like them but I always get up and keep going. I know that tomorrow things will be better. I know that these hardships will only make me stronger. I know I will end up on top laughing. Sa akin ang huling halakhak.”
Earlier, Binay said running for Taguig mayor in 2025 remains an “option” even as her priority is to ensure the welfare of EMBO residents whose villages were placed under Taguig jurisdiction.
“It is an option, but it is at the bottom of the list…I cannot be a sitting mayor [of Makati] if I am no longer a resident. So, I will have to resign and move my residency and my voter’s registration to Taguig. That’s something we have to wait for, and [it] will be the sure sign of my decision in 2025,” she told members of the Rotary Club of Makati last month.
