As the Navotas City Hospital celebrated its second anniversary, Mayor John Rey Tiangco announced the city government’s plans to build more healthcare facilities for Navoteños.

The NCH will have an additional building that will house 50 more beds, raising the hospital’s total bed capacity to 100, Tiangco said.

The new building will feature an orthopedic section, a rehabilitation therapy center, an ear-nose-throat clinic, and other services.

“The rise in the number of admissions for the past two years reflected the need of our constituents for more medical and health services. We intend to address this need and secure the health of every Navoteño,” he said.

According to NCH, comparative data between July to December 2015 and July to December 2016 showed that admissions in the hospital rose by 80 percent.

Tiangco also revealed that Navotas will soon have a medical and wellness center that will replace the current Navotas Emergency and Lying-in Clinic. The center will offer services that include mammogram, rehabilitation, drug testing, x-ray, laboratory, ECG, 2D echo and animal bite.

NCH also recently inaugurated its hemodialysis unit that could serve up to 15 patients every day.

Each session will cost P2,600, but patients who have Philhealth cards or have yet to exhaust their free 90 dialysis sessions a year will be treated free of charge.
