Officials at the opening Wednesday of the Polloc Freeport Power Substation for new paths of highway lighting and community: among them are Magelco General Manager Engineer Sultan Ashary Maongco, Datu Abdullah Ali Sangki Municipal Mayor Datu Pax Ali Amgudadatu; Port Administrator Iharyf Sucol; Brigadier General Jonas Lumawag, Mayor Datu Kahar Ibay of Parang West Maguindanao, and Cooperative Consumers President Saikuna Mamokhan.

The sharp decline in systems loss means illegal connections were reduced by 82 percent in less than six years, said executives of the Maguindanao Electric Cooperative (Magelco) on Wednesday.

At the opening Wednesday of the Polloc Power Substation, Magelco General Manager Engineer Sultan Ashary Maongco said the electric cooperative has achieved maximum efficiency rate in collection of electric bills in its domain of clientele.

The substation will enhance distribution lines by increasing power supply here from single-phase to three-phase, which is seen to improve level of business investments in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) through this Freeport.

A succession of regional autonomous governments and administrations since 1970's has groomed this 40-year old port to potentially develop into a Regional Economic Zone.

Polloc is an ecozone in the making and is distinctly situated in a cove seaport, like Subic Freeport.

Maongco said single circuit 40-footer concrete poles will increase by 13.2 Kilowatt power supply along the highway for communities bounded by the Polloc Pigcalagan Distribution Line.

Officials also ceremonially switched the lighting of highways that will energize more communities with double circuit on 40- to 45-footer concrete poles through increased power distribution with a 13.2KW supply along the Simuay to Polloc Distribution Line.

It may be worth-mentioning that corporate power utility companies like the Aboitiz-run Cotabato Light and Power Company, charge at consumer billings about eight percent in systems loss, nine percent generation charge; a distribution charge that is close to 50 percent of generation charge, a supply charge of close to five percent and a fixed monthly metering charge of P 243.00.
