Marcventures Mining and Development Corporation (MMDC) distributed vegetable seeds to the residents of Carrascal to ease the difficulties in food supply during the quarantine. The initiative was in support of “Gulayan sa Panimalay” a project of the Department of Agriculture.

The vegetable seeds encouraged families to grow their own greens, save on food expenses during the pandemic, while enjoying  a steady supply of fresh produce  from their own backyard. Having a garden not only supplemented the daily food requirement, it also helped nurture family ties since every member can take part in growing all kinds of vegetables.

MMDC continues to give support  and assistance to its host communities. Aside from supporting their home gardens, the company assisted local farmer by  supplying rice seeds, organic fertilizers  and even gave carabaos to some farmers to help them plow lands and yield more crops for higher income. Seed capitals were  also given to members of cooperative associations to help them start income generating businesses.
