DAR puts up office in Pagadian City

The Department of Agrarian Reform on Sunday said a new regional office will rise in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur to better serve farmer-beneficiaries in Region 9.

Secretary John Castriciones said Pagadian City Samuel Co has donated a 5,500-square meter land for DAR’s new building in that area, citing Co “sees the important role of DAR in improving the lives of the farmers and it is just proper to accommodate their office in the city.”

The transfer of lot to DAR was recently done through a simple signing ceremony between Co and Castriciones.

The agrarian reform chief said the construction of new and bigger DAR headquarter is very timely since President Rodrigo Duterte has given DAR a multitude of tasks, especially in the provision of support services to the farmers.”

“I am very thankful for the Sangguniang Panglungsod ng Pagadian, especially to Mayor Co, for seeing the importance of DAR to the farmers,” he said.

He said he would allocate budget in 2021 for the construction of the new building.
