Cotabato City—Thousands have electronically trooped to the Job Portal of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao during its first week of launch.

Bangsamoro Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Al-Hadj Murad Ebrahim said the platform was created as part of the Bangsamoro Government’s call for moral governance and its policy to strictly implement a merit-based hiring process and credible job placement.

Executive Secretary Abdulraof Macacua said the Bangsamoro Job Portal is BARMM’s way to relieve applicants from traveling to seek employment.

BARMM Interior Minister Naguib Sinarimbo said candidates may apply through the portal, so that even if they are from the farthest part of the Bangsamoro, they need not spend a fortune to get your application to the region.

BARMM Cabinet Secretary Asnin Pendatun said the region’s job portal—accessible through www.jobsbangsamoro.gov.ph—was launched on Dec. 30 and the year’s last Bangsamoro Cabinet Meeting on Dec. 23.

“We have officially launched the Bangsamoro Job Portal in which prospective applicants to the new positions in the bureaucracy can conveniently search and apply for job openings,” Pendatun said.

Ebrahim said his government opens the portal to all, and that people with integrity, skills, and the passion to serve the Bangsamoro have a place in the new bureaucracy.

Pendatun said earlier reports that instances of technical glitch had occured due to loads of users accessing the website, has already been fixed by the Information Communications Technology Office under the Office of the Chief Minister.

Ebrahim said spplicants do not need to travel and personally submit their applications, as everything is done through the website.

However, Ebrahim stressed that applicants who do not have access to the Internet stilll have to submit their documents personally.

“The prospective applicants, who do not have access to the Internet, may submit their papers personally for consideration of the ministries and offices of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region,” he said.

Sinarimbo said: “We have published today at the Bangsamoro Jobs Portal the vacant positions in our ministry even as we converge today with all of our personnel from the regional office all the way down to our provincial offices in Tawi Tawi, Sulu, Basilan, Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao to do a year-end evaluation of our performance and plan in a more detailed manner the programs for next year.”
