ANGELES CITY—A former vice mayor of Masantol, Pampanga and his business partner were found dead inside the office of Blue Gems Security Agency situated at Dona Isabel Street, Barangay Pulung Maragul late afternoon Saturday.
Col. Rommel Batangan, acting director of the Angeles City Police Office, identified the victims as former vice mayor Eric Cariaga and Jorge Perez Bustos III, manager of Blue Gems Security Agency.
Bustos is a brother of Patrol Party-list Rep. Jorge Bustos.
The victims suffered fatal gunshot wounds, Batangan said in a text message to reporters.
“Investigators are still blank as to the motive. A witness submitted his statement to the police for validation,” said Batangan.
Investigators said only three persons were present inside the Blue Gems office when the incident happened.
Maverick Bustos Cunanan, 29, office caretaker, told investigators that no visitors came into the office from 9 a.m to 4 p.m.
“At around 4:30 p.m., while Cunanan was taking a bath, gunshots rang from the manager’s office. He rushed and checked the office and found two lifeless bodies,” the police said in its report.
Batangan said a Special Investigation Task Group was created to lead and supervise the probe being conducted by the ACPO.
