Balanga leaders vow to keep peace

Balanga City—Mayor Francis Garcia and Vice Mayor Vianca Venzon-Gozon have vowed “no letup” in their peace and order drive in this city.

The city leaders have activated the City Anti-Illegal Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) to cleanse the city of drug pushers and users.

The mayor and vice mayor recently spearheaded the quarterly meeting of the council held at Dona Francisca covered court.

Police Major Sonia M. Alvarez, chief of police, reported that Balanga Police Station is ranked first among the 223 police stations in the region for the months of October, November, and December.

City Public Safety Office (CPSO) Operations Officer Jose Balana then presented the 1Patroller’s report and the road- clearing operations in the city.

1Patroller is an innovative peace and order program of the city where residents using smartphones can forward videos and photos of illegal or suspicious activities and other violations to city police and CPSO.

Garcia also announced the city government will prioritize the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines which may happen in the third quarter of 2021 at the earliest.

The mayor also took the opportunity to thank frontliners and other city workers for their continuous service in the time of pandemic.

Local government officers, city officials, policemen, CPSO personnel, BFP personnel, department heads, some government agency representatives, and barangay officials attended the CADAC meeting.
