Camp Olivas, Pampanga—A notorious drug group operating in San Antonio, Nueva Ecija was busted by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency following the arrest of its leader and four members during a buy bust operation at Barangay Bulihan on Thursday, authorities here said.
PDEA3 Director Christian Frivaldo identified the suspects as Danilo B. Manaluz, alias Paz, 49; Resy P. Villegas, 30; Ayan P. Villegas, 27; Jaymart R. Villegas, 25; and Jeffrey V Ocampo, 29, all residents of San Antonio town.
Frivaldo said the drug bust eventually led to the dismantling of the illegal drugs den being maintained by Manaluz, who occupied the 9th spot of the PDEA watchlist of personalities operating in the province.
He said some P100,000 worth of shabu was seized by PDEA operatives at the drug den situated at Purok 4 in Bulihan village.
The sting yielded six pieces of transparent sachets carrying shabu with an estimated street value of P143,616, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the buy-bust money.
Meanwhile, Frivaldo turned over to Central Luzon director BGen Valeriano De Leon the PDEA watchlist book that will serve as reference before launching anti-illegal drugs operations in a specific area.
He said the watchlist book will also serve as guide for operatives to determine their targets.
“Our campaign against the proliferation of Illegal drugs is further strengthened with the handing-over of watchlist books to Police regional Office 3 (PRO3),” said Frivaldo during the turn-over of watchlist books held in this regional police headquarters.
He said the names in the watchlist are the targets of PDEA and the police in future operations. It will the basis in conducting drug clearing operations.
“These are the fruits of the joint efforts of the PNP-PDEA in the fight against illegal drugs and we can assure that these will not be put to waste,” said De Leon.
The suspects in San Antonio drug bust were brought to PDEA provincial headquarters for further investigation as violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act is being readied against them.
