City of San Fernando—The Pampanga provincial government is offering P300,000 bounty to anyone who could give information and identities of gunmen responsible in the killing of a village watchman in Floridablanca town.

Governor Dennis Pineda assured the security and protection of the person who will volunteer information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects.

Police Lt. Colonel Roger Tomen, chief of Floridablanca police, said investigators are still puzzled as to the identities of the suspects as captured images on security cameras installed along the escape route were not clear and identifiable.

“Our investigators have yet to establish the motive aside from the fact that they were flagged down at a checkpoint for not wearing facemask,” said Tomen, who led a team of crack probers during follow-up operations since Sunday.

Joseph Labonera Sr., 59, a watchman of Barangay Del Carmen in Floridablanca was shot at point blank range by motorcycle-riding gunman shortly before noon on Sunday. He succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.

Spent shells for caliber .45 pistol were found by police responders at the crime scene.

Labonera, according to police report, was stationed at the village quarantine control point at Purok 1, when he was shot dead by the suspects who were onboard a two-tone Honda motorcycle 125 cc without license plates.

The suspects escaped the police dragnet and accelerated toward nearby Porac town after the incident.

Tomen said all possible angles are being looked into by investigators to determine the motive behind Labonera gunslay.

“We will not allow Labonera’s death to be left to shelves and cobwebs,” Tomen vowed.
