3,000 tablets for Angeles teachers set

Angeles City—Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. has given assurances the local government unit will provide nearly 3,000 tablets to public school teachers in the city.

The city government initially planned on distributing 55,000 tablets to Grades 4 to 12 students in 53 public schools only.

But recognizing the crucial role educators play to make ‘virtual learning’ a success, Lazatin decided to give tablets to public school teachers as well.

The city government is distributing a total 58,000 computer tablets.

The city government has begun its distribution of the initial 2,017 tablets to five public schools in the city that included Cutud Elementary School (359 tablets), Epza Resttlement Elementary School (859 tablets), Marisol Bliss Elementary School (493 tablets), Pulung Cacutud Elementary School (259 tablets), and Leoncia Elementary School (91 tablets).

The city mayor urged other parents and students to be patient in waiting for the delivery of their tablets.

The city government is also finalizing the agreement with local internet providers to meet their objective of providing free and fast internet for both teachers and students and the entire city residents in general. Butch Gunio

Lazatin has allocated P20 million for the installation of 772 satellite units for the city internet.
