SM Foundation donates 3 ICU-grade ventilators to Reg. 2 hospitals

Three hospitals in Region 2 each received an ICU-grade ventilator recently from SM Foundation, which strengthens their capacity to manage severe COVID-19 cases, particularly for patients who require intubation.

NEW VENTILATORS. Various hospitals in the Cagayan Valley region receive the three ICU-grade ventilators donated by SM Foundation, bringing to P400 million its total contribution to the national effort against COVID-19.

The hospital beneficiaries are the Southern Isabela Medical Center (SIMC), Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC), and Gov. Faustino N. Dy Sr. Memorial Hospital (GFNDSMH).

Present at the turnover were the heads of the three hospitals namely Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggayao of CVMC; Dr. Emmanuel Salamanca of SIMC; and Dr. Nelson Paguirigan of the GFNDSMH.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello and SM City Cauayan Mall Manager Sheila Marie Estabillo also graced the event.

To date, SM has donated almost P400 million in essential medical supplies, equipment, RT-PCR testing, and assistance to help national efforts in the fight against COVID-19.
