2k trike drivers get P2,000 each from Balanga government

Balanga City, Bataan—The city government through the leadership of Mayor Francis Garcia and Vice Mayor Vianca Venzon-Gonzon has distributed cash aid to more than 2,000 tricycle drivers in the city to help them in this time of the COVID-19 crisis.

Each tricycle driver received P2,000. The distribution activities were conducted separately in various covered courts in observance of social distancing to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. 

A new set of availing tricycle drivers is expected to register for the financial assistance.

The city government said tricycle drivers needed help because they have limited income nowadays due to the pandemic. The drivers profusely thanked Garcia and Venzon-Gozon for the assistance.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod members supported the cash aid program of the city to the transport sector with a resolution authorizing the release of the funds.

Balanga is also implementing a “Kusina sa Barangay” feeding program and milk distribution to children.
