Taking a new approach, SM malls in Bulacan have expanded its efforts with its #SupportLocalAtSM campaign to encourage shoppers to buy local as a way of helping businesses, especially Filipino brands and homegrown micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), who have been greatly affected by the pandemic.

This campaign is rolled out all throughout the month to help shoppers find, discover, and support MSMEs and local businesses in the malls, SM officials said.

SM Bulacan Malls in Marilao, San Jose Del Monte, Baliwag and Pulilan also paid tribute to past and modern-day heroes as the country commemorated its 122nd Philippine Independence Day.

“Independence Day takes on a greater meaning this 2020,” said SM City Marilao Mall Manager Emmanuel Gatmaitan.

“SM salutes the bravery of our frontliners and honors all health workers, soldiers, policemen, and employees at groceries, stores, and volunteers who continue to serve the public in this time of crisis” Gatmaitan added.

SM affiliates and tenants took part in the campaign by highlighting their locally made products, goods and services to encourage patronization among the locals.

SM Bulacan malls also introduced a number of initiatives to assist local businesses and to help MSMEs generate revenue during community quarantine period.

These include tapping local delivery and errand services such as Pabili-Bulacan, Ride Eat, Pa Suyo Po, and Cartel De Marilao, as well as JoyRide and Bulacan 3 Wheels On-The-Go.

SM Bulacan Malls are also keeping up with the changing times as they launched a first-ever virtual concert. Shoppers can celebrate Independence Day and rock and roll at the convenience of their homes by watching Pinoy rock icon Bamboo on June 20 at 8 p.m. via ZOOM.

Fans can get a chance to win an exclusive pass for every single receipt purchase of P500 from June 10 to 14.
