Balanga City—The Balanga City government has formed disinfection teams that are continuously sanitizing and disinfecting certain areas of the city as protection against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Mayor Francis Garcia and Vice Mayor Vianca Venzon-Gozon have ordered measures against the disease following the recording of the first case in the province last Friday.

The city officials immediately implemented two executive orders issued by Gov. Abet Garcia containing guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus in the province.

The areas of St. Joseph Cathedral, Plaza Mayor de Balanga, Barangay Dona Francisca playground, city public market, city hall main building, and city hall annex have been disinfected.

Public and private educational institutions, barangay halls, daycare centers, and rural health units are continuously being sanitized.
