Cordillera cops bust over P7-m worth of drugs, arrest 9

The Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) police regional office seized over P7.7-million worth of illegal drugs and arrested nine drug personalities during anti-illegal drug operations conducted from May 5 to 11, 2025.

According to police reports, a total of 20 anti-illegal drug stings were conducted across the region. These include 11 marijuana eradication operations, four buy-bust operations, four implementations of search warrants, and one service of warrant of arrest.

The operations led to the seizure of 37,350 fully grown marijuana plants, 1,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops, and 25.44 grams of suspected shabu, with a total standard drug price of P7,762,992.00.

Nine drug personalities were also arrested, two of whom are classified as high value individuals, while seven are listed as street level.

The most significant operations were recorded in Kalinga, where the Kalinga Police Provincial Office destroyed 29,300 marijuana plants and seized 6.50 grams of suspected shabu with an overall value of P5,904,200.00. They also arrested four street level individuals.

In Benguet, authorities burned 8,050 marijuana plants and confiscated 1.30 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1,618,840.00. One person was apprehended.

Meanwhile, the Baguio City Police Office arrested three suspects and seized 1,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops with 10.64 grams of suspected shabu. The drugs are worth P192,352 combined.

In Mountain Province, police apprehended one high value individual and confiscated seven grams of suspected shabu valued at P47,600.00.

The CAR police regional office said these accomplishments demonstrate the effort, dedication, and teamwork of operatives and community support in the continuous fight against illegal drugs to secure drug-free communities across the Cordillera region.
